 Eligibility Criteria (Category-wise)

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) from a recognized board.
  • OR Hold an ITI Certificate from NCVT/SCVT.

Age Limit (As of 01-07-2025):

  • General Category: 18 to 33 years
  • OBC Candidates: 18 to 36 years (3 years relaxation)
  • SC/ST Candidates: 18 to 38 years (5 years relaxation)
  • PwBD Candidates: 18 to 43 years (10 years relaxation)

Selection Process (Stage-wise):

The Railway Group D exam consists of the following stages:


Computer-Based Test (CBT):

  • Subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd marks deducted for each wrong answer.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

  • Male Candidates: Run 100 meters in 4 minutes, lift & carry 35 kg weight for 100 meters.
  • Female Candidates: Run 100 meters in 5 minutes, lift & carry 20 kg weight for 100 meters.
